The Harlowe & Hannah Story
I love children! Most of my close circle of friends are parents. I don't have any children, so most of our conversations and day trips always become centered around what's going on with kids. For me, seeing my once single friends who are now parents was a beautiful, but dramatic transformation. Their children mean the world to them and the extent they go to make sure they have the best is heart warming. From that alone, I found my niche.
Before Harlowe & Hannah was Harlowe & Hannah, it was a vision of this state-of-the-art, architectural structured, store front, baby boutique, with an array of custom wardrobe fixures, filled with baby garments hanging from satin hangers. I loved the idea of offering custom nursey design and decor along with in-store events for baby and parents. I wanted an event space for baby showers & birthday parties and a in-house photography studio for newborn portriats. "A $1.5M dollar vision." Just like many entreprenuers, you have a vision of an amazing beginning, middle & a never ending profiable business. With the gift of creativity and ingenuity embedded in my DNA, demolishing the vision completely wasn't an option. I had to be wise and scale my million dollar vision onto a smaller but lucrative platform.
Day by day, Harlowe & Hannah was constructed by web and turned into an online baby boutique, exclusively for my circle of friends and their friends. I was a one man band, designing nurseries, playrooms, ordering furniture, clothes, strollers, and car seats on a per individual basis. Surprisingly, every parent wanted something completey opposite from the others, however, it was based on their particular parenting style. It was a challenge, but I understood. At that point, Harlowe & Hannah became more of a personal one-on-one service. Remarkably, our clientele expanded due to the nature of their work. Some relocated or traveld on a consistent basis. This opened up a new platform for us.
It has been an amazing journery. It's a very humbling experince. It reminds me that you never know how things are going to turn out. I had my heart and mind set on this one particular vision for Harlowe & Hannah. However, I had to reconsider other options and I'm so grateful of the outcome.
